I am imagining planting a couple in an island beneath some hybrid elm trees, so they would be in part shade. I have plenty of irrigation, and there is a slight slope to the location.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Another variety which is early to bloom is &#8216;Nobleanum.&#8217; American Rhododendron Society&#8217;s blog has a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rhododendron.org\/blog\/?view=plink&amp;id=49\">post<\/a> by a Pacific Northwest author who lists several others:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8216;Bo Peep&#8217;<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;Seta&#8217;<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;Snow Lady&#8217;<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;Cilpinense&#8217;<\/li>\n<li><em>R. mucronulatum<\/em> &#8216;Cornell Pink&#8217;<\/li>\n<li><em>R. dauricum<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>R. moupinense<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>R. strigillosum<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One can also search the American Rhododendron Society <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rhododendron.org\/search_intro.asp\">site<\/a> for varieties of Rhododendron which meet various criteria, including bloom time.<\/p>\n<p>Meerkerk Gardens on Whidbey Island lists rhododendrons by <a href=\"http:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/55ecc99ee4b0d933462657ef\/t\/55f773e0e4b0aed1edc2e238\/1442280416156\/r_12months.pdf\">month of bloom.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/rhodygarden.org\/cms\/\">Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden<\/a> might be another good resource.
