If so, where might I find one?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Washington Department of Agriculture has a <a href=\"https:\/\/cms.agr.wa.gov\/WSDAKentico\/Documents\/FSCS\/Organic\/Pubs_organic\/wsda_cert_org_producers.pdf?\/wsda_cert_org_producers\">list of certified organic producers<\/a> (current as of 3\/7\/2019) and on this list I found farms which have carried organic Christmas trees in the past if not currently:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/lazyjtreefarm.com\/index.php\/christmas-tree-shop\">Lazy J Tree Farm<\/a> in Port Angeles, WA<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.buttonwoodfarm.com\/\">Buttonwood Farms<\/a> in Redmond, WA<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fallcityfarms.com\/\">Fall City Farms<\/a> states on their website that, while not certified, they grow their trees using organic practices.<br \/>\nWashington State University&#8217;s Farm Finder<br \/>\ndescribes <a href=\"https:\/\/eatlocalfirst.org\/listing\/fall-city-farms\/\">Fall City Farms<\/a> as follows:<br \/>\n&#8220;They practice ecologically-sound farming and sustainable agriculture and serve as an agricultural education and culinary resource.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/eatlocalfirst.org\/wa-food-farm-finder\/\">Farm Finder<\/a> lists a number of other farms which carry &#8220;claimed ecologically sound&#8221; Christmas trees. The only other farm in King County is <a href=\"https:\/\/eatlocalfirst.org\/listing\/carpinito-bros-farms\/\">Carpinito Brothers<\/a> in Kent. (There are other farms in other counties.)<\/p>\n<p>In Oregon, there are two types of organic certification, described in this <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20170115002612\/https:\/\/www.opb.org\/news\/blog\/ecotrope\/what-it-takes-to-grow-organic-christmas-trees\/\">Oregon Public Broadcasting<\/a> feature:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nwchristmastrees.org\/serf\/about.html\">SERF<\/a> (Socially and Environmentally Responsible Farm)<br \/>\nand <a href=\"http:\/\/ecologycenter.org\/directory\/directory-entries\/coalition-of-environmentally-conscious-growers\/\">Coalition of Environmentally Conscious Growers<\/a> certification.<\/p>\n<p>This New York Times article, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2008\/12\/04\/garden\/04garden.html?pagewanted=all&amp;_r=0\">&#8220;How Green Can a Christmas Tree Be,&#8221;<\/a> by Annie Raver (12\/3\/2008) mentions there is a certification called &#8220;Certified Naturally Grown&#8221; for Christmas trees in 47 states.<\/p>\n<p>Another option, if you have the space in your garden, is to buy a living tree from an organic nursery and then plant it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Is there such a thing as a certified organic Christmas tree?
