An out of print booklet titled <a href=\"http:\/\/hortlib.kohacatalog.com\/cgi-bin\/koha\/opac-detail.pl?biblionumber=665\">Tree and Shrub Transplanting Manual<\/a> by E. B. Himelick (available at the Miller Library) gives these tips for increasing the chance for success: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>water deeply and regularly<\/li>\n<li> apply a thick organic mulch<\/li>\n<li>mist the foliage in the morning and evening<\/li>\n<li> erect a temporary shade cloth<\/li>\n<li> do not apply any fertilizer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Research has shown B vitamin &#8220;fertilizers&#8221; do not make any difference so don&#8217;t waste your money! <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Summer is the worst time of year to transplant a tree, shrub or perennial, but sometimes circumstances force us to take action during the hottest, driest time of year.
