The UW Health Promotion Research Center is also one of the initial members of the national network.<\/p>\n<p>Our collaborative purpose is to strengthen the translation of effective interventions into practice through research, training, and technical assistance using established organizational infrastructure, strong community relationships, and cross-center projects. ARC NW includes partners from research, health care, and community organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Together, we emphasize effectiveness, dissemination, and implementation research in the areas of cancer screening, physical activity, and vaccine-preventable cancers.<\/p>\n<div id=\"uw-accordion-shortcode\">\n<div class=\"js-accordion\" data-accordion-prefix-classes=\"uw-accordion-shortcode\">\n<div class=\"js-accordion__panel\" >\n<h2 class=\"js-accordion__header\">Mission<\/h2>\n<p>\nTo build relationships between researchers and community partners, conduct cancer-related research, and translate research into community practice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"js-accordion__panel\" >\n<h2 class=\"js-accordion__header\">Goals<\/h2>\n<p>\nFacilitate and conduct community-based cancer prevention and control research that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Will build upon existing knowledge.<\/li>\n<li>Addresses critical gaps in the Guide to Community Preventive Services and other published literature.<\/li>\n<li>Leads to the adoption, implementation, and dissemination of successful programs in communities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"js-accordion__panel\" >\n<h2 class=\"js-accordion__header\">Members<\/h2>\n<p>\nARC NW is lead by principal investigator Linda Ko. While ARC NW is based at the UW Health Promotion Research Center, its members and partners are from multiple regional organizations. The National Cancer Institute is also actively involved in the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network efforts.<\/p>\n<p>CPCRN\u2019s ultimate goal is to reduce cancer incidence and mortality through community-based research that will accelerate the implementation and adoption of evidence-based cancer prevention and control in communities.<\/p>\n<div class=\"box-outer\">\n<div class=\"box one box-left box-tan\">\n<div class=\"tile\">\n<h3>CPCRN Members<\/h3>\n<p>The ARC NW is one of eight national centers funded by the National Cancer Institute and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as part of a national collaborative effort with the CPCRN.<br \/>\nThe current network member centers are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>University of Arizona<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Colorado School of Public Health<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Emory Prevention Research Center<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>NYU-CUNY Prevention Research Center<\/strong> (a joint effort with New York University and City University of New York)<\/li>\n<li><strong>University of Iowa<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill<\/strong> (coordinating center)<\/li>\n<li><strong>University of South Carolina<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>University of Washington<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a class=\"uw-btn btn-external btn-sm btn-none\" href=\"https:\/\/cpcrn.org\/\">LEARN MORE<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"box-outer\">\n<div class=\"box one box-centered box-tan\">\n<div class=\"tile\">\n<h3>EBI Compendium<\/h3>\n<p><strong>These EBI Compendium is available only to current project partners.
