Is Climate Change Real & Human-Caused?

The ISCFC is all about reducing our individual and collective contributions to climate change.

But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?

In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?

Are you or are you not convinced by the majority of climate scientists who say that climate change is real and largely human caused? Why are you convinced/not convinced? What evidence might change your mind one way or the other?

Human Caused

I think the Industry and deforestation are the main reasons, so i think it's a Human Caused.

Climate Change

Climate change is one of the most important things to be informed about right now, especially because of global warming. I'll start off by saying yes, Climate Change is very real and human-caused. Two of the most common causes are burning fossils fuels and deforestation, both are human-caused. Some things we can do to reduce climate change is using renewable energy as well as reducing all kinds of waste.

Climate Change is Real

Climate change is a real element that is occurring. It is partly human caused, as shown by changes in climate rising along with the population size rising. The evidence for this is shown in human activity and the comparison of climate/population rates.

Is Climate Change Real and Human Caused?

Climate change is real and is caused by humans. Some people believe that climate change is natural and has been happening in cycles over the course of the life of the earth. However, this is false. Climate Change is occurring due to greenhouse gas emissions. These greenhouse gas emissions are mostly caused by Industry and Transportation. This is a result of humans trying to advance as a civilization.

Climate change is real

Yes, climate change is real and its a real threat. Is it human - caused? yes and no. Humans didn't exactly cause climate change, but we aren't really helping either. The climate heats and cools on it's own, but we are definitely speeding up the process.

Is climate change real and human caused

Climate change is most definetly real and human caused.  Humans have burned fossil fuels, chopped down trees for animal agriculture and many more. The temperature has increased by one degree which might not seem like much but it has raised the sea level by metres. One degree being raised has caused the glaciers to melt which is the reason of the sea level being raised. Many places in the world could get flooded by our incompetence which is the reason why we should be aware of climate change's existance and do something about it.

Duartek   2021-10-07 11:13:17

The whole situation just makes me really disappointing in humanity. It's utterly embarrassing how ignorant and incompetent the general populous is.

Hannah Le   2021-10-07 13:42:29

Most people ignore the fact that our planet is dying, and it's embarrassing how they don't believe scientific research, it's ignorant. The glaciers melting is just some points being proven. The way we are living is unexceptionable.

Moffatm1295   2021-10-08 12:28:51

I feel like a lot of the time society and the media try to sugar coat climate change and because of that a lot of people don't think it's something they should be worried about or something that's a big deal. It has gotten to the point where humans can't ignore it any longer, and I agree that it's really embarrassing that people don't believe in it.

Alexandra5424   2021-10-08 13:32:00

this is so ture, a lot of the time media covers things up and makes things seem better than they actually are. It's frustrating seeing how people aren't trying very hard slove the issue at hand.

2PU3590T7   2021-10-08 13:51:11

I agree, climate change has been caused by humans and we haven't really done too much to try and stop it.

Nivlac   2021-10-08 17:52:43

I have done some research and I have found that actually, the technical majority believes in climate change (51% of global populous). The problem is that the other 49% just doesn’t wanna hear it. They don’t want to believe that climate change is any more than an idea made up by governments for reasons not even they can say (because they don’t exist!). Some words of wisdom that perfectly describe this dilemma: “One cannot use reason to dissuade someone from a conclusion that they did not use reason to reach.”

Farah14   2021-10-08 18:18:07

I think the amount of people wanting to end climate change aren't doing whats needed to help. They might influence some people to help but overall people all around the world are making things worst because it "doesn't effect them".

PowerIron20   2021-10-11 20:16:07

Sadly what the average civilian can do isn't very useful because it's mostly the large companies that are causing climate change so the most we can do is urge said companies to go more clean.

Climate change is Real

Yes, Climate change is very real and Humans caused this. This is because humans are very greedy and have many wants. In result of all these wants, humans have made many products that require hurting the environment. For example, burning fossil fuels, cutting down trees/entire forests, farming livestock, and much more.

Climate change

Between the warming, rising, and acidification of the oceans, the global temperature rise, and the decline in Arctic sea ice and snow cover, it is ridiculous to deny both the existence of climate change and the huge role that humans have played in it.

The consequence of humanity

I think that climate change is human-caused. The reason I think that is because we do many things that hurt the environment like litter, using plastic a lot, not being aware of what your using and if its harmful or not. I also think stopping or slowing climate change can be accomplished if even starts being more considerate about what they use and how they use it.

Global warming in front of us

« The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S manufacturing non-competitive » Donald Trump.
As we know the former president of the US, Donald Trump, like many other people, don’t believe in global warming. But how can we not be aware of climate change? How can we have doubts on it?
Indeed, the recent wild fires in California which were more intense, the last floods in Germany and Belgium which were fatal contribute to illustrating and supporting the majority of climate scientists who say that climate change is real. As I live in a tropical island I can testify that summers are warmer and warmer. I believe that, for those who do not agree with science, they should observe and listen to their environment. Climate is much more than just scientist data
I am not saying that everyone must be 100% green but we can be more responsible by being conscious of global warming and adopt more respectful behaviors. I do believe that each human plays a major role in climate change so let’s play it in the right way.

TarunKommoju   2021-10-08 17:32:19

I agree with you that the climate change right now is caused by humans. But don't you think that it could have occurred naturally in the future

katherinefc   2021-10-08 20:58:51

It's truly disappointing to see that so many people deny the existence of climate change and hide behind politics instead of acknowledging the problem and working to solve it. You made a really good point when you said that climate change is bigger than data. I think people don't realize the meaning of the data. They don't see that climate change is affecting people now.

Is Climate Change Real & Human-Caused?

Climate change is 100% real and caused by humans. By burning fossil fuels, more greenhouse gases are being released into the atmosphere and trap more heat. Since humans have been burning fossil fuels for many years now, the concentrations of greenhouse gases have increased tremendously and now more and more people are realizing the issue humans have caused. If people looked more into the things they used, maybe we could’ve prevented this sort of thing from happening in the first place.

Humans and Climate Change

Humans have had a significant impact on climate change. They are increasing the concentration of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, which enable sunlight to flow through and reach the earth's surface, while they continue to cut down forests and burn fossil fuels. As the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere increases, more heat is trapped in the atmosphere. As a result, global temperatures are rising and climate change is occurring. The human population has grown throughout time.

is climate change human caused?

climate change is 100% real but is it human caused? The main driver of climate change is the greenhouse effect. Many of these greenhouse gases occur naturally, but human activity is increasing the concentrations of some of them in the atmosphere. CO2 produced by human activities is the largest contributor to global warming and other greenhouse gases are emitted by human activity in smaller quantities.

yhluca   2021-09-28 10:15:29

absolutely, human activity is the main cause for climate change

kylev   2021-09-28 10:29:40

It's definitely human caused. Natural climate change happens over millions of years, so organisms have a chance to evolve with it. The rate climate change occurs with carbon emissions will kill all of us.

Sam_nocera   2021-09-28 10:34:04

I totally agree, we are responsible for 90% of all green-house gases in the atmosphere.

NiCkwe   2021-09-28 11:16:07

Yes I think humans are the main cause for climate change. Because at the rates CO2 levels are going up its definitely not all natural causes creating this.

Scarletisafungi   2021-09-28 20:56:33

Hi, I agree with what you said. There are, indeed, natural changed in climate such as the ice ages. However, these occur over millions of years and changes in climate are happening rapidly and unnaturally. This is giving animals no time to adapt, thus, killing many off. This is a huge problem that we caused from our food, transportation, and heating systems.

stellagcanada   2021-10-02 17:55:56

adding onto the fact that climate change's leading cause is the greenhouse effect, an enormous amount of CO2 in the air has come from animal agriculture. A large reason animal agriculture has risen to the point of giving off this much carbon is because of human's overconsumption of animal meat. if humans weren't so dependent on the agriculture industry, there would not be this much cattle, therefore not as much CO2 in the air.

MartaB   2021-10-06 07:11:45

I agree and especially if you look at graphs showing CO2 in the atmosphere from the beginning of the industrial revolution it just goes up from there

Yaser Hosainy   2021-10-07 11:27:38

Agree with ya'll, specially, over-using is also another threat to the Earth! People use too much of something they can use for so many times, like water bottles. 80 percent of the plastic water bottles we buy end up in landfills. U.S. landfills are overflowing with more than 2 million tons of discarded water bottles. It takes up to 1,000 years for every single water bottle to decompose. Each bottle leaks harmful chemicals into our environment along the way as it decomposes.

Yeah, I believe that it is real and Human-Caused. The population increases, which increases the potential for more greenhouse gases to be created.

Weed Wacker   2021-10-07 20:38:26

I definitely agree that humans are the main cause of climate change due to us causing the greenhouse effect.

Smith_5227   2021-10-07 20:45:08

Yes!! Humans definitely cause more greenhouse gasses to be emitted into the atmosphere causing this climate change.

Is climate change real? And is it caused by humans?

Yes. It is. And people who say it isn't, are willfully ignorant and obtuse. While some climate change is natural, the majority of it is caused by humans. We burn fossil fuels (i.e. coal, oil, and natural gases), public transport is not as widespread as it should be, the waste production is exponential, and we're cutting down our forests, and those are only few things. If public transportation was used by more people, the overall carbon footprint of the world would decline a bit because it's decreasing the amount of energy that's used in single-person transportation and if we started to produce and consume renewable products our waste production would go down, too. Along those same lines, if renewable energy became more common, then that would be a great help as well. In 2019, the U.S.--ALONE--had contributed 6.6 billion tons of carbon dioxide to climate change. That is 6.6 BILLION TONS of CO2 that is wrecking our atmosphere, and it's our fault. So, yes, climate change is real and we need to do something about it.

Climate Change and the Effect Humans Have on It

Humans have played a huge role in affecting the climate. As they continue to chop down trees and burn fossil fuels, they continue to increase the concentration of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, gases in the atmosphere that allow sunlight to pass through and reach the earth's surface. As the level of greenhouse gases rise, more and more heat gets trapped in our atmosphere. Thus resulting in an increase of worldwide temperature and climate change. Overtime, the human population has risen.

Running out of time

Everyone in some way shape or form has released greenhouse gases which in turn causes climate change to accelerate. Climate change is human-caused but it also means that we can lower the effect of climate change by being conscious of our carbon footprint.

seralise   2021-10-07 18:50:35

I agree. Since the rapid acceleration of climate change is caused by humans, we also have the ability to work towards de-accelerating it. It'll most definitely be hard work and it'll take many drastic changes to the way we live life, but if it's to save our planet, it's worth it.

Climate Change

I believe that climate change is real and mostly caused by humans. Everyday there are people driving causing air pollution, making the air heat up and the quality worse and it's just harming our world.
Burning oil, gas, coal causes it to release carbon dioxide and that just heats up the world, i believe that we need to find another solution to reduce the usage of fossil fuels.
Deforestation is also another reason of climate change, get rid of manys plants and trees that give us oxygen.

Your Post: I believe that climate change is real and is caused mostly by humans as we human’s create more and more carbon to support our daily lives like using gas for our cars which burns more fossil fuels that contribute to Greenhouse gases in our atmosphere which causes more radiation from the sun to be trapped on earth and increasing the heat on earth. This has caused more intense storms like hurricane ida and colder winters which are just some of the results of Climate change

Climate Change is Real!!

For anyone who is wondering if climate change is real or not, it actually is. Climate change is caused by the millions of factories that are built all around the world. It causes the rise of sea levels which by 2050 it will rise by 15-20 cm. It also kills lots of polar bears and other arctic animals. All of the glaciers in the world will also melt by 2100 and we will live in a really hot world which will be covered by water. So please make a change and stop climate change.

Greenhouse Gasses and Climate Change

Climate change is real and it is primarily caused by humans. The human population has increased drastically over the last few centuries, which has caused an increase in the emissions of greenhouse gases. This increase in emissions has caused more greenhouse gasses to be let into the atmosphere. This increase in greenhouse gases has, in turn, caused more and more heat to be let through the atmosphere which has caused global warming and climate change.

Our planet is on the verge of destruction. If we humans keep up our bad habits for a few more decades, we will officially polute the planet with harmful gasses, and rid our planet of resources. We need to support elon musk and transport over to mars.

Carlos Armenta Ruiz   2021-10-07 12:50:27

Human activities link with Climate Change

While climate change is a natural occurrence, it usually occurs over the course of millions of years. Human activities are the driving force behind the rapid changes in climate. Things like our agriculture, transport, factories and fossil fuels cause the enhanced greenhouse effect which is heating up the earth. Humans definitely play a large role in  today's climate change issue.

Climate Change in the World

The primary cause of climate change is definitely from greenhouse gases, especially ones made by humans. Greenhouse gases are there to trap heat in the Earth's surface as well as allow sunlight to pass through. A lot of the greenhouse gases are caused by humans, such as the carbon dioxide, as a lot of humans are burning oil, or using a large amount of coal and gas.
