{"id":500,"date":"2021-05-04T14:54:08","date_gmt":"2021-05-04T21:54:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/iconics\/?page_id=500"},"modified":"2026-02-12T12:43:18","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T20:43:18","slug":"webinars","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/iconics\/events-2\/webinars\/","title":{"rendered":"Webinars"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><strong>Recent webinar:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The International Committee On New Integrated Climate change assessment Scenarios (ICONICS) is pleased to announce &#8216;Launching the Scenario Evolution Process Webinar&#8217; which took place on 12 February 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Shared\u00a0Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs) have provided a widely adopted foundation for climate-centric research, yet their design\u00a0limits applicability in the\u00a0context\u00a0of\u00a0today\u2019s\u00a0interconnected global challenges.\u00a0To address these limitations, the International Committee on New Climate Change Assessment Scenarios (ICONICS) has started the <a href=\"http:\/\/sep.du.edu\">Scenario Evolution Process (SEP)<\/a>: a community-led initiative to critically reassess, adapt, and potentially transform the SSPs\u00a0to\u00a0a more fit-for-purpose framework that\u00a0supports\u00a0research on resilient, equitable, and sustainable development and develop socioeconomic scenarios that have a applicability beyond the climate change domain.<\/p>\n<p>Speakers provided detail on the motivation, vision and process for the Scenario Evolution Process, with information on the concordant activities:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>A multi-stage survey to both scenario producers, as well as users of scenario-based information.
