Cobb)<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-98-0-0-1\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_text\" data-index=\"1\" >\t\t\t<div class=\"textwidget\"><p>Our lab investigates new manufacturing and materials processing approaches with the end goal of significantly improving the performance of energy materials and other complex engineered systems.\u00a0 Our multi-disciplinary approach integrates the fields of additive manufacturing, materials science, design, computation, and artificial intelligence.\u00a0 Currently, we are focused on developing innovative manufacturing solutions for lithium-ion batteries, new digital fabrication platforms, and machine-learning approaches for materials analysis.\u00a0 Our longer-term goal is to develop new manufacturing processes and automated analysis methods that will enable the digital control of functional and structural materials to support adaptive manufacturing on-demand.\u00a0 Freeform digital fabrication creates a new 3D design space where materials can be varied at each point in a structure, allowing for optimization of material properties to meet the demanding\u00a0 requirements of complex engineered systems for energy, electronics, and defense-based applications.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><div id=\"panel-98-0-0-2\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_themegrill_flash_image tg-widget tg-image-widget
