Abhay (Abbey) is an undergraduate researcher in the UW Hindbrain Malformation Research group. She is a senior at the University of Washington and previously performed research in the Department of Biology before joining the Doherty Lab in June 2012. Her primary research focus is with Chudley-McCullough Syndrome, where she looks at molecular variations in GPSM2, as well as protein expression and signaling pathways of CMS. She is also working on isolating keratinocytes and fibroblast cell lines from patient skin biopsies, a new adventure that the Doherty lab has recently undertaken. Outside of the lab, Abhay enjoys spending her spare time with family, traveling, and exploring all the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
