Keck Center Safety Plan<\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Keck Center Access<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Personnel who wish to use the Keck Center must request access from the Keck Center Manager and go over the COVID-19 safety plan in person with the manager.<\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only approved users who agree to adhere to these guidelines may use the Keck Center.  The Keck Center Manager will keep a list of approved Keck Center users who have agreed to adhere to this safety plan, along with a checklist of facility and safety procedures for EHS purposes.  Users are encouraged to provide feedback to the Keck Center if they notice any risks not addressed by the this safety plan and\/or have thoughts pertaining to how the safety plan could be improved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each day, Keck Center users with reservations for that day must email the Keck Center Manager and confirm that they are not sick BEFORE they may enter the Keck Center.<\/u><\/strong><\/u><\/strong><\/u><\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This email confirmation can be a simple a statement such as, \u201cI am not sick today<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keck Center users may not enter the Keck Center without this confirmation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Safety Practices<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

User must leave at least a 30-minute gap between reservations<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This 30-minute gap time is not for finishing work, cleaning, and\/or transferring files.\u00a0 The room is meant to be unoccupied between users so that the air can circulate.\u00a0 Users should plan to end by the end time of their reservation, and it is their responsibility to plan ahead and be on time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facial coverings are recommended in the Keck Center while operating microscopes and\/or image analysis workstations.<\/u><\/strong><\/u><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Extra masks can be found just inside the entrance to the Keck Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keck Center users are asked to wash their hands at the beginning of their sessions.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each room in the Keck Center has a disinfection station with sink, hand soap, paper towels, nitrile gloves, , KimWipes, ammonium chloride disinfecting wipes, and hand sanitizer.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Microscopy samples, notebooks, and other imaging-related items must be placed within\u00a0GREEN-TAPE-DESIGNATED AREAS.<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Users may not access or place items in\u00a0RED-TAPE DESIGNATED AREAS.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surfaces contacted by users during imaging or image analysis <\/mark><\/strong><\/mark>must be disinfected by the user at the end of the session.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each room in the Keck Center contains a whiteboard for logging disinfections (date, time, initials) at the end of each session.<\/p>\n\n\n
