Our Mission:<\/h2>\n

The Kenya Research and Training Center brings together faculty, students, and researchers to support research that improves health and\u00a0informs policy in Kenya and other resource-limited settings across the globe.<\/p>\n

Our Vision:<\/h2>\n

We aspire to improve health in Kenya and sub-Saharan Africa through high-quality mentoring, rigorous scientific research, and strong collaborations.<\/p>\n

For more than 30 years, the research agenda for the Kenya Research and Training Center (KRTC) has emphasized HIV\/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, other infectious diseases (e.g., tuberculosis, malaria, helminths), maternal and child health, and reproductive health. Our Center has collaborated with various institutions including the University of Nairobi, Kenyatta National Hospital, Kenya Medical Research Institute, Coptic Mission, Walter Reed, and more. The impact of KRTC research and training on health outcomes and policy in these areas has been enormous and has extended well beyond Kenya\u2019s borders to sub-Saharan Africa and other resource-limited settings.<\/p>\n

The Kenya Research and Training Center website has information about the numerous collaborators from the University of Washington, University of Nairobi, Kenyatta National Hospital, and Kenya Medical Research Institute that are a part of this Center, as well as the various projects and publications associated with the Center.<\/p>\n
