Would you like to compare and contrast the key factors in how different companies do business?  Would you like to “test drive a business culture” as an alternative to finding an internship?

Then, enroll in Leadership Lab © !

Leadership Lab  takes School of Business undergraduate students out-of-the-classroom and into multiple local organizations to meet directly with senior leadership teams and CEOs. By participating in the lab series, students learn more about business cultures, missions, operations, and key functions in successful businesses.

Leadership Lab  completion includes a kick-off Cohort Convocation and a wrap-up Leadership Summit with a total contact time of 25+ hours of business networking. Successful completion of the program results in the award of a Certificate of Achievement.

Specifically, by the end of this leadership lab, students will:

  • Observe multiple business operations and cultures directly;
  • Experience different organizational settings first-hand and above leadership styles;
  • Hear perspectives from top leadership and CEOs who represent a range of industries;
  • Develop their own insights on desirable leadership competencies to pursue and acquire;
  • Share individual reflections and summarizations of what was learned with coaches and cohorts.

Program Description

This unique cohort program takes students onsite to multiple companies with the span of an academic year to create a broad view of organizational leadership in a variety of settings and industries. Students learn directly from CEOs and senior executives as these leaders discuss the organization’s mission, vision, and culture. In each lab, students hear a high-level overview of the organization’s specific business functions and learn what makes this organization tick. Throughout the lab series, students actively engage in a variety of activities to stimulate further thought and in-depth dialogue about leadership. In addition, students learn how they can benefit by developing their own specific leadership competencies in parallel with what employers value. Each lab session concludes with a discussion of the leadership competencies desired within the specific organization. This powerful program supports the transformation of students upto leaders.
