Face the Stigma

Two years ago, PHE implemented an initiative to bring more mental health programming to campus. One of the ways we have done this is through our own mental health awareness campaign: Face the Stigma. Each spring, Face the Stigma features posters of genuine University of Washington students and community members and their own unique mental health experiences. The purpose of this campaign is to de-stigmatize mental health, increase awareness of mental health and illness, and decrease the gap between students and mental health resources. By putting a face to mental health, we aim to humanize mental health and mental illness for everyone.

This year we will re-launch Face the Stigma. If you are interested in putting your face to mental health, please email the PHE Events and Programming Coordinator, Keertana Sureshbabu, at

Thank you to our partner the UW Counseling Center for their support, guidance, and vision for this campaign. You can visit the Counseling Center at 401 Schmitz Hall or call them at 206-543-1240.
