Bio-Compatability

Biocompatibility can best be described as the ability for foreign materials to survive in vitro.  Certain reactions can be caused by the introduction of foreign materials into the body.  It is the goal of doctors these days to minimize these reactions by the body to these materials.  One way to do this is to learn from our experiences in the past and to understand the inner-workings of the body's response to these materials and figure out what can cause problems.
