In order to fulfill this requirement, all trainees must:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Register for and attend BIOC 533 &#8220;Ethics 101&#8221;, a six-week seminar in winter quarter.<\/li>\n<li>Obtain a minimum of 2 additional hours of research ethics training, for a total of at least 8 hours.\u00a0 This can be done by:\n<ul>\n<li>Attending two hours of the <a href=\"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/bhdept\/uw-biomedical-research-integrity-program\">Biomedical Research Integrity<\/a> training, held twice a year<\/li>\n<li>Participating in other seminars, lectures, formal discussions held either at UW or FHCRC that cover the required topics (see <a href=\"http:\/\/grants1.nih.gov\/grants\/guide\/notice-files\/NOT-OD-10-019.html\">NIH notice NOT-OD-10-019<\/a> for specific topics)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You MUST&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/MVoae21sty4U7a176\">report this training<\/a>&nbsp;to the MBTG office or it will not count towards your requirement.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"maxbutton-2 maxbutton maxbutton-ethics-reporting\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Click to report your ethics training\" rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/MVoae21sty4U7a176\"><span class='mb-text'>REPORT ETHICS TRAINING<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The NIH requires all trainees to receive at least&nbsp;eight&nbsp;contact hours of training in biomedical research ethics, and the University must document that all trainees receive this training.
