Meet the Front Desk Volunteers of the Memory Hub

The Memory Hub welcomed the first group of front desk volunteers this fall! We currently have 4 active front desk volunteers, with a 5th joining soon. The front desk volunteers are the first contact that visitors have upon entering the community center. Each volunteer brings a commitment to the Memory Hub mission, a compassionate and helpful spirit, and respect and kindness for folks living with memory loss and their caregivers. On November 16, 2022 at the Central Area Senior Center, SHARP participants and their supporters commemorated the successful summer pilot of the SHARP program! SHARP is a culturally celebratory neighborhood walking and reminiscing program for older Black adults.

The Diversity Within Dementia podcast features local and UW MBWC experts!

The Diversity in Dementia Podcast hosted by Gentle Generations explores the different facets of Alzheimer's and dementia with experts from many different fields. Many of their invited guests are familiar voices at the UW Memory and Brain Wellness Center, UW Alzheimer's Research Center, and the WA State Dementia Action Collaborative!
