Frequently Asked Questions

Who can join MOSSAIC?

UW Seattle students may join at any time during their college experience. Part- or full-time, traditional and nontraditional students are all encouraged to participate.
We welcome all students who self-identify on the spectrum; a formal medical diagnosis is not a requirement for participation.

Self-identification to the Disability Resources for Students office is not a requirement, but is strongly advised.

What are the program dates?

UW MOSSAIC operates throughout the academic year – autumn, winter, and spring quarters. We do not offer a summer quarter program at this time.

What is the time commitment?

Participants can choose how much time they engage with the program. The cohort seminar (or weekly check-in) is 60-90 minutes each week; optional study periods are offered twice weekly at various times. Students working with a peer mentor meet weekly one-on-one for approximately one hour throughout the academic year (excluding summer quarter). Group events that include all participants, mentors, and instructors are held one evening each month.

How much does it cost to participate?

The fee for MOSSAIC is $25 per quarter, for resident and nonresident students. Financial aid is available upon request.

I have questions that aren’t answered here. Who should I talk to?
