What would inspire students to create such a project and apply for funding?\u00a0 You be the judge!<\/p>\n<p>The Provost\u2019s Office will provide the funding, basic structure and guidance for HESAC members to\u00a0lead and advance the Husky Seed Fund.\u00a0 In work groups, members will: \u00a0gain program\u00a0management, leadership, and financial management skills; help fellow Huskies by shaping how dollars impact their ideas;\u00a0and receive coaching from Provost\u2019s Office staff on how to include this experience on a resume, talk about it in person and apply lessons learned and skills gained going forward.<\/p>\n<p>Apply here: <\/p>\n<p><strong>Deadline:\u00a0\u00a0 5:00 p.m., October 23, 2019\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><u>Councilmember Duties<\/u><\/h2>\n<p>This year the HESAC will be doing two things; selecting new projects and overseeing the two projects selected last year \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/strategicplanning\/husky-seed-fund\/\"><em>Husky Cookbook<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/strategicplanning\/husky-seed-fund\/\"><em>Sparking Joy as an A- Student<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0 Members will participate in both of these areas.<\/p>\n<p>To help you gauge the time commitment to HESAC, here is a schedule of activities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Bi-weekly whole group meetings<\/strong> &#8211; <strong><em>Wednesdays 3:30-5:30pm<\/em><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Autumn Quarter\n<ul>\n<li>November 6 &amp; 20<\/li>\n<li>December 4<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Winter Quarter\n<ul>\n<li>January 15 &amp; 29<\/li>\n<li>February 12 &amp; 26<\/li>\n<li>March 11<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Spring Quarter\n<ul>\n<li>April 1, 8 *note shift* &amp; 22<\/li>\n<li>May 6 &amp; 20<\/li>\n<li>June 3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>As needed <\/strong>\u2013 small group meetings between bi-weekly meetings\n<ul>\n<li>To be arranged by small group members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>We are not able to flex meeting times, so <strong>please double-check your schedule to ensure you can attend<\/strong> <strong>at these times<\/strong> <strong>if you are selected<\/strong>. <strong>If so, please place holds for these meetings on your calendar now.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Student Advisory Councilmember Terms of Service <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Councilmembers will serve 1-year terms, with a possible 1-year reappointment.<\/li>\n<li>Council members will review and award seed funding to peers.\u00a0 They will not be eligible to apply for seed funding in the year in which they serve.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Questions?<\/strong> Contact Katy DeRosier at <a href=\"mailto:katyd2@uw.edu\">katyd2@uw.edu<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Apply now to join the Husky Experience Student Advisory Council Help advance the Husky Seed Fund, an award that brings to life innovative ideas by students that are inclusive, impactful, and inventive to the UW.\u00a0 Gain valuable experience advancing and managing a program that will impact thousands of students at UW.
