{"id":4647,"date":"2014-02-25T12:15:42","date_gmt":"2014-02-25T20:15:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/mswnews\/?p=4647"},"modified":"2026-04-20T09:47:49","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T16:47:49","slug":"uw-peer-health-education-apps-due-march-7th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/mswnews\/2014\/02\/uw-peer-health-education-apps-due-march-7th\/","title":{"rendered":"UW Peer Health Education Apps due March 7th"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Do you have a passion for sexual health, mental health, or drug\u00a0education?<\/strong>\u00a0 If so, the UW Peer Health Education program may be for you!\u00a0 We are currently recruiting for 2014-2015 peer health educators and welcome students from all majors and backgrounds to apply.<\/p>\n<p>The Peer Health Educators are a group of student volunteers dedicated to encouraging healthier decisions by educating the UW community through presentations and other events.\u00a0 This\u00a0includes everything\u00a0from presentations\u00a0with the UW Greek community to being on Sexpert panels.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0program\u2019s scope is focused on the most common issues related to student health:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>healthy relationships\/relationship violence<\/li>\n<li>sexual assault<\/li>\n<li>mental health\/suicide intervention<\/li>\n<li>alcohol and other drugs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here is the link to the 2014-2015 PHE application:\u00a0https:\/\/catalyst.uw.edu\/webq\/survey\/tiffhou\/223985. \u00a0It is due on March 7th and we will follow up the next week with further information and next steps. \u00a0There are 2 information sessions you may attend if you are interested in learning more:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wednesday March 5, 5:30-6:30<\/li>\n<li>Thursday March 6, 5:00-6:00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Both sessions will be located in 109 Elm Hall (located next to the West Campus Fitness Center).\u00a0If you are interested in attending a session, please email Tiffany at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:uwphe@uw.edu\" target=\"_blank\">uwphe@uw.edu<\/a> with the session you are interested in. \u00a0You can also select an option in the PHE application.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that\u00a0spring training will take place spring quarter from 4:30-6pm on Thursdays. \u00a0This is required for all PHEs.\u00a0There is also an option to receive 1-2 credits (TBD).<\/p>\n<p>Please feel free to email\u00a0the PHEs at\u00a0any time at <a href=\"mailto:uwphe@uw.edu\" target=\"_blank\">uwphe@uw.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do you have a passion for sexual health, mental health, or drug\u00a0education?\u00a0 If so, the UW Peer Health Education program may be for you!\u00a0 We are currently recruiting for 2014-2015 peer health educators and welcome students from all majors and backgrounds to apply.
