{"id":5526,"date":"2015-04-01T16:39:35","date_gmt":"2015-04-01T23:39:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/mswnews\/?p=5526"},"modified":"2015-04-01T16:39:35","modified_gmt":"2015-04-01T23:39:35","slug":"international-student-event-from-career-services-tuesday-414","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/mswnews\/2015\/04\/international-student-event-from-career-services-tuesday-414\/","title":{"rendered":"International Student event from Career Services \u2013 Tuesday 4\/14"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>AN EVENT FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>An International Student\u2019s Path to Successfully Working in the U.S.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, April 14, 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>5:30 pm to 7 pm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Career Center, 134 Mary Gates Hall<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Career Center is excited to bring to campus American executive, Mark Wen to talk about his path from international student to Healthcare Executive with Seattle Children\u2019s Hospital.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Mark Wen has 30 years of executive level international business development and hands on management experience with a focus on international medical service.\u00a0 Currently, Mark is an executive at Seattle Children\u2019s Hospital in charge of International Medical Service.\u00a0 Mark has a BS of Electrical Engineering from China and MBA from Gonzaga University and Doctor Degree from CPU of California.\u00a0 He is often guest teaching at Seattle U\u2019s MBA program on global marketing and \u201cdoing business with China\u201d.\u00a0 Mark is very active in the Seattle area international business and trade with China and is the current president of Washington State China Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n<p>Mark worked as director of international medical services for Virginia Mason Medical Center, Swedish Medical Center and also served as Executive Director of International Medical Services for Stanford University Medical Center.\u00a0\u00a0 He is a seasoned entrepreneur in start-up business venture and investment management. He built a medical supply sourcing company from nothing to a company with over 1000 employees with over $50 million in annual revenue.\u00a0 He has also worked as international sales and marketing director for the largest computer keyboard manufacturer in the world.
