In response to requests from youth in our community, this event is an opportunity for high school youth and undergraduates to plan, organize and contribute to discussions related to race and equity in education. We are excited to have you contribute your ideas to a larger conversation of diversity and equity in our community.0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\" style=\"background: white; text-align: start; word-spacing: 0px;\"><b><i><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;\">What will this event look like<\/span><\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;\">?<br \/>\nWe\u2019ll start with opening remarks from<span class=\"xgmail-m7503939398662850094gmail-m-3805844188007016201apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><b>Dr. Ed Taylor<\/b>, Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Academic Affairs;<span class=\"xgmail-m7503939398662850094gmail-m-3805844188007016201apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><b>Dr. Gabriel Gallardo<\/b>, Associate Vice President for Student Services &amp; Academic Support in OMA&amp;D;<span class=\"xgmail-m7503939398662850094gmail-m-3805844188007016201apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><b>Kendra Canton,<span class=\"xgmail-m7503939398662850094gmail-m-3805844188007016201apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b>Director of Diversity Efforts at ASUW and a UW senior studying Medical Anthropology and Global Health; and<span class=\"xgmail-m7503939398662850094gmail-m-3805844188007016201apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><b>Kim Anh Tran<\/b>, a UW sophomore studying Public Health<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\" style=\"background: white; text-align: start; word-spacing: 0px;\"><i><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;\">After lunch participants will have their choice of student-led breakout sessions to attend, such as:<span class=\"xgmail-m7503939398662850094gmail-m-3805844188007016201apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>The Reality of Impostor Syndrome,<span class=\"xgmail-m7503939398662850094gmail-m-3805844188007016201apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Let&#8217;s Talk About It,<span class=\"xgmail-m7503939398662850094gmail-m-3805844188007016201apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Stereotypes and Education in America, and<span class=\"xgmail-m7503939398662850094gmail-m-3805844188007016201apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Black Girl in Progress.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b><i><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;\">Registration information<\/span><\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;\">:<br \/>\nWe invite all members of the education community (e.g. students, administrators, educators, community leaders, family members) to attend this event!
