Nikita Ares was born in the Philippines and moved to Seattle when she was 16. She is a recent graduate of Cornish College of the Arts. Ares is inspired by the natural environment, the energy of colors and textures she sees around her. She writes, “By applying abstraction, I find that energies can reveal an innate awkwardness, and a humor that speaks to our own vulnerabilities.”
