Anny was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and moved to the United States at age 13. She received a B.S. in Brain, Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences from the University of Michigan. In medical school, she was very active as a peer counselor, providing advice and support to junior students. She was also active in the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and the Taiwanese Dialect.
