We were honored to have Mr. Yulin Shen (\u6c88\u7389\u9e9f\u5148\u751f) as a speaker of our monthly community forum.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/oralhist\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/1.pic_.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-619\" src=\"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/oralhist\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/1.pic_.jpg\" alt=\"1.pic\" width=\"909\" height=\"687\" srcset=\"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/oralhist\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/1.pic_.jpg 909w, https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/oralhist\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/1.pic_-300x227.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 909px) 100vw, 909px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 With his family origin from Anhui, Shen was born in Kaifeng, Henan, China in 1928,\u00a0 spent his childhood in Shanghai and Nanjing. Since the War of Resistance against Japanese in 1937 he and his family were exiled to Chongqing, Chengdu Sichuan. He graduated at Jiaotong University Shanghai, major in shipbuilding and minor in art, in 1949. Retired from\u00a0Xingang Shipyard Tianjin in 1988,\u00a0 and studied as a graduate student at SIT\u00a0NJ USA in 1989.\u00a0 He learned oil painting at UW art school in 1995 , and has been teaching \u201cChinese Culture and Calligraphy \u201d\u00a0 at Experimental College UW since 2005.\u00a0 From his books you will see his interest from travel, poem, sketch, painting, and calligraphy.\u00a0As educated professionals, his family suffered terribly during China\u2019s Cultural Revolution in the 1960s and 70s. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/oralhist\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/1.pic_1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-620\" src=\"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/oralhist\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/1.pic_1.jpg\" alt=\"1.pic\" width=\"954\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/oralhist\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/1.pic_1.jpg 954w, https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/oralhist\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/1.pic_1-300x226.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 954px) 100vw, 954px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u6c88\u7389\u9e9f\uff0c\u7956\u7c4d\u5b89\u5fbd\uff0c1928\u5e74\u751f\u5728\u6cb3\u5357\u958b\u5c01\uff0c3\u6708\u5f8c\u9077\u79fb\u4e0a\u6d77\uff0c\u5357\u4eac\u3002 1937\u5e74\u6297\u65e5\u6230\u722d\u6d41\u4ea1\u56db\u5ddd\u91cd\u6176\uff0c\u6210\u90fd\u3002 1949\u5e74\u4e0a\u6d77\u4ea4\u5927\u9020\u8239\u7cfb\u7562\u696d\uff0c1988\u5e74\u5929\u6d25\u5858\u6cbd\u65b0\u6e2f\u8239\u5ee0\u9000\u4f11. 1989\u5e74\u81ea\u8cbb\u7559\u5b78\u4f86\u7f8e\u5728\u65b0\u6fa4\u897f\u65af\u5730\u6587\u601d\u7406\u5de5\u5b78\u9662\u9032\u4fee\u4e00\u5e74\uff0c1995\u5e74\u897f\u96c5\u5716\u83ef\u5927\u7f8e\u9662\u5b78\u7fd2\u6cb9\u756b\uff0c2005\u5e74\u81f3\u4eca\u5728\u83ef\u5927\u5be6\u9a57\u5b78\u9662\u6559\u4e2d\u570b\u66f8\u6cd5\u3002<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/oralhist\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/3.pic_.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-622\" src=\"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/oralhist\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/3.pic_.jpg\" alt=\"3.pic\" width=\"968\" height=\"706\" srcset=\"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/oralhist\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/3.pic_.jpg 968w, https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/oralhist\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/3.pic_-300x219.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 968px) 100vw, 968px\" \/><\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u300a\u862d\u4ead\u5e8f\u300b\u662f\u516c\u5143353\u5e74\u4e2d\u570b\u66f8\u6cd5\u5927\u5e2b\u738b\u7fb2\u4e4b\u7684\u50b3\u4e16\u5091\u4f5c\uff0c\u53ef\u60dc\u539f\u4f5c\u88ab\u7687\u5e1d\u5510\u592a\u5b97\u5077\u76dc\u846c\u65bc\u5893\u4e2d \u3002\u73fe\u5728\u53ea\u7559\u4e0b\u6a21\u4eff\u539f\u4f5c\u7684\u4eff\u88fd\u54c1\u3002\u4eba\u5011\u9084\u53ef\u4ee5\u5230\u6d59\u6c5f\u7d39\u8208\u7684\u862d\u4ead\u53c3\u89c0\u738b\u7fb2\u4e4b\u7684\u6545\u5c45\u3002\u90a3\u88e1\u6709\u201c\u9d5d\u6c60\u201d \uff0c\u201c\u7891\u4ead\u201d\u00a0\u4ee5\u53ca12\u4f4d\u66f8\u6cd5\u5bb6\u4eff\u738b\u7fb2\u4e4b\u5beb\u7684\u300a\u862d\u4ead\u5e8f\u300b\u7891\u5e16\u77f3\u523b \u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u4e2d\u570b\u6587\u5316\uff0c\u5343\u59ff\u767e\u614b\uff0c \u5df4\u9ece\u5927\u5b78\u718a\u79c9\u660e\u8aaa\u53ea\u6709\u66f8\u6cd5\u7368\u9818\u98a8\u9a37\uff0c\u7562\u52a0\u7d22\u4e5f\u8aaa\u4e2d\u570b\u66f8\u6cd5\u65e9\u5c31\u662f\u62bd\u8c61\u85dd\u8853\u3002\u5e0c\u671b\u9664\u4e86\u820c\u5c16\uff0c\u66f4\u6709\u7b46\u5c16\u4e0a\u7684\u4e2d\u570b\u6587\u5316\u5728\u4e16\u754c\u50b3\u64ad\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\ufffc<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week Sunday, April, 17th, 2016.
