Dividing large data files
Data files can become very large, especially with the storage of picture information. There are practical limits to the size of files and it is recommended that data files be segmented as they approach 2 Gb in size. Segmentation expands the practical limits by splitting data into multiple files. This process is transparent to the user of the database and data is handled as if it belongs to a single data file. Segments can be added using the Add data file segment button on the second tab of the About dialog (Help > About).
