Installing Otobase Server

Installing Otobase Server on the server machine will enable client machines to connect remotely. In this section you will learn how to install and configure Otobase Server for Windows and Macintosh.

System requirements

To use Otobase Server, you need the following:

23 MB of available hard-disk space for installation of Otobase Server
CD-ROM drive
Required server files from 4D.

For information on system requirements for 4D files, refer to the 4D documentation or the 4D Web site, www.4d.com.

When establishing a client/server environment for Otobase, you will need to install the following software.

For the server machine:
Otobase Server
4D Server
Network Components
4D Write (optional, a server license is needed)
For the client machine:
4D Client
Network Components

Note: Remember to back up your data file(s) before proceeding further.
