Specialist Tutor Information
We train our tutors to work with a wide range of writers. This year, in addition to hiring for general writing tutors at our main site, we are also hiring for these positions, which require additional application materials.

Education writing tutor
Education writing tutors would support graduate and undergraduate writers at our College of Education Miller Hall satellite site starting their second quarter of tutoring. Our COE site serves 68% graduate writers and 64% multilingual writers. We encourage applicants who have experience writing in the field of education and familiarity with the kind of writing in educational settings.
STEM writing tutor
STEM writing tutors would support graduate and undergraduate writers at our Health Sciences satellite site starting their second quarter of tutoring. This site is a partnership with the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Dentistry, and Pharmacy. Our HSL site serves 40% graduate students and 45% multilingual writers. We encourage applicants who have experience with science writing, writing in the health sciences and familiarity with the kind of writing expected of undergraduate and graduate students in the health sciences fields.
English language support tutor
Across our three sites, OWRC holds over 51% of its sessions with multilingual writers, and we are proud to support the learning of all of our writers. We’re seeking tutors with expertise in language acquisition, language development, and multilingual learning. MATESOL students in particular are encouraged to apply.
