Michael Kyte Distinguished Lecture, Wayne Kittelson

This past October, PacTrans consortium partner, the University of Idaho hosted the Michael Kyte Distinguished Lecture. This year, PacTrans External Advisory Board Member, Wayne Kittelson, of Kittelson and Associates gave a great talk on, “Moving Forward over the next 15,000 days: Shaping our future transportation system.”

“15,000 days,” says Kittelson, “is essentially the equivalent of 40 years, or a career.” He refers to it in days because he makes the argument that the days are much more important than the years. “The days are where everything gets done, in fact, they’re the only place that anything gets done,” Kittelson elaborated. He went on to discuss agents of change, highlighting three general areas: technology, academic institutions, and personal traits/characteristics.

The Michael Kyte Distinguished Lecture has a short but strong history of offering industry leaders a microphone (literally) to shape future generations of transportation professionals!
