2019 PacTrans | CSET Regional Transportation Conference

Last weekend, students, faculty, and professionals were present on the University of Washington campus to attend our annual PacTrans | CSET Regional Transportation Conference, this year’s theme being Bridging Innovations and Practice for Enhanced Mobility and Safety.

Last year, participants flew out to Fairbanks, Alaska. This was the first time our conference was held anywhere other than on UW’s campus. This year, we decided to stick with our Seattle roots and invited students from our constituent universities, transportation engineering faculty, and professionals in the field to join us in the Emerald City for this event.

We had the honor hosting some great professionals who were kind enough to share their best practices, as well as students and researchers who used the conference as a platform on which to discuss their work. The conference included a total of four break out sessions – two on the topic of mobility and two on the topic of safety – a closing panel discussing smart mobility for undeserved populations, a poster session, and lots of networking!

The next morning, students gathered together to participate in our annual student conference, which also featured some wonderful guest speakers and saw a lot of great posters on research by students from our partnering universities.

PacTrans would like to thank everyone who came out and participated in this year’s conference, as well as those who helped put together this event. We really appreciate all the work that went into planning it and we hope to see you all next year!

Stay tuned for our conference newsletter, coming soon!
