    Title of Seminar: Sound Transit Projects and Plans for a Potential ST3 Public Vote

    Speaker: Michael Williams, Deputy Executive Director of Capital Project Development Planning, Environment & Project Development at SoundTransit

    [Short Biography] Michael Williams has over 30 years of experience in the field of transportation planning and engineering. He has been with Sound Transit since January 1998, and is currently the Deputy Executive Director for the Office of Capital Project Development where he is responsible for the planning, environmental analysis and preliminary engineering for 27 miles and $6 Billion worth of light rail extensions and other capital projects. Michael also served as the Rail Activation Manager for the start-up of the Central Link Light Rail line.

    Before joining Sound Transit he worked in both the public and private sectors in the field of transportation planning and engineering. He spent 11 years as the Manager of Transportation Systems at the University of Washington where he implemented the Husky Stadium Transportation program and the U-PASS program. His education includes a master’s degree in Urban Planning and Transportation from the University of Washington.
