    PacTrans Hosts Summer Board Meeting

Last week PacTrans hosted our annual summer board meeting on the UW campus. This was our first meeting since the Board Retreat in Fairbanks, Alaska, back in March. We covered many topics including our first research cycle funding, single-institution projects for the first research cycle, next year’s budget, new selection criteria for future RFPs, preparation for our Regional Transportation Conference and External Advisory Board meeting, our data management plan, and other upcoming business. PacTrans regularly rotates the location of board meetings between the campuses of consortium partners because it affords them the opportunity to have local PacTrans PIs stop in and give updates on their ongoing PacTrans funded research. At this meeting we heard updates from seven of our UW PIs, on projects ranging from freight truck parking, to transit stop safety, to bus pedestrian near miss detection, and more. The board will next meet in person at the Board and External Advisory Board meeting that will take place the day before the Regional Transportation Conference in October. More details on the conference will be posted soon.
