Barbara Ivanov, who since 2003 had been acting as the director of the Freight Systems Division at the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), has recently been named Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the University of Washington’s Supply Chain, Transportation and Logistics Program (SCTL). PacTrans would like to extend to her a warm welcome.

We would also like to congratulate her on her recent achievement of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) Section on Transportation Policy and Administration Truitt-Felbinger Award. This award was established in memory of Lawrence J. Truitt and Claire Felbinger, former STPA Chairs, valued colleagues, scholars, practitioners, and teachers and is presented annually to an individual who has made significant contributions to the field of transportation policy and administration. Some of the previous recipients were: Neilson A. “Dutch” Berthof, Aviation Director for the City of Phoenix; Former Deputy Secretary of Transportation, Mortimer L. Downey; James R. Mills, Chairman Emeritus of the San Diego Metropolitan Transportation Board; and, Dr. Brent Bowen, University of Nebraska Foundation Distinguished Professor in Aviation.
