Urban Freight Lab calls for Tech Day proposals
The Urban Freight Lab is hosting their third annual Tech Day: Transforming the Final 50 Feet of Delivery, a pitch competition for innovators improving the final leg of the urban goods delivery system – the Final 50 Feet, which begins at the curb, in an alley, or a private loading bay, and ends with the customer.
They are looking for solutions for the following key problems:
- Reducing parking-seeking behavior in dense urban areas
- Improving commercial vehicle parking space productivity
- Reducing the number of failed first deliveries, and
- Reducing dwell time for delivery vehicles.
Finalists will pitch solutions at Tech Day to their members (retailers, freight carriers, UW researchers, and the City of Seattle DOT) and a panel of venture capitalists. Contestants receive exposure to potential customers and investors and may be chosen for a pilot project.
