    WMATA transit job opening in Washington D.C.

    Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is looking for one or more junior-level transit analysts to join their team in the Planning Office in Washington, D.C.  The positions are described below.

    Business Intelligence Analysts

    Come join the Applied Planning Intelligence unit in WMATA’s Planning Office – a team delivering complex data analysis to inform executive decision-making and improve Metro’s performance for customers. The team integrates and leverages big data to develop actionable intelligence on ridership and the customer experience. Analyses touch on a wide range of topics, including service, performance, operations, fare policy, the customer experience, customer impacts of policy proposals, and more.

    WMATA is looking for candidates with critical thinking, data science, and research skills; experience working with transportation data and querying SQL databases; and a passion for improving public transit service for riders.  The right candidates can transform a large dataset into useful information, and help turn information into ideas and action.  More than one position may be available depending on the qualifications of the candidates.
