PacTrans director, Yinhai Wang, was one of two UTC directors invited\nto participate as a presenter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>First, UTC program director, Caesar Singh, gave a general overview the history, funding mechanism, and structure of the University Transportation Center program. Then Professor Wang, followed by Professor Kaan Ozbay, director of the C2SMART Tier 1 University Transportation Center, each presented on our respective research funding structures, adding more detail to how external organizations can get involved to leverage UTC funding for research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Wang spoke about the different classifications of research that PacTrans funds as well as the process for selecting, funding, and executing our research. He also touched upon some innovative technology transfer activities that have been developed over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CRC council hosts webinars on research funding programs\nto help CRCs, committee chairs, committee members, and friends, understand the\nvarious transportation research funding programs and to help in their efforts\nto identify, engage with, and secure funding for their research needs\nstatements. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This past March, the TRB Committee Research Coordinators (CRC) Council hosted a webinar on the USDOT University Transportation Centers program funding.
