Stu was the founder of the palliative care services at UW Medical Center and Chair of the Clinical Operations of the Cambia Palliative Care Center of Excellence.  Under Stu’s outstanding leadership, the UW Medical Center’s inpatient palliative care service achieved Advanced Certification in Palliative Care by the Joint Commission.

Recently, the Department of Family Medicine announced the Stuart J. Farber MD and Annalu Farber Endowed Professorship in Palliative Care Education that will honor Dr. Farber’s remarkable contributions to palliative care.  Additional donations to this important professorship are welcome:  please contact Caroline Anderson (cmanders@uw.edu) or 206-221-2899.

Stu will be greatly missed and his legacy will be long lasting.  The leadership of the Cambia PCCE was truly fortunate to have worked with Stu, and we were blessed to be under his leadership and mentorship.  His passionate work in palliative care helped form the foundation of our Center and will continue to inspire future leaders in our field for years to come.

In Remembrance of Stu Farber
