In addition, patients whose RDW increased during hospitalization had higher mortality compared with those whose RDW did not change (6% vs 24% among 1,173 patients with normal RDW at admission and 22% vs 40% among 468 patients with an elevated RDW).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Foy et al.
