Young people were found to have the greatest risk increase associated with type 2 diabetes. While patients with type 2 diabetes across all ages were at increased risk of death (aHR = 1.23), the relative mortality risk associated with type 2 diabetes decreased with higher age (age 18\u201349 years aHR = 1.50, age 50\u201364 years aHR = 1.29, and age \u226565 years aHR = 1.18).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i>Dennis et al.
