In addition, while prone positioning was found to be associated with lower mortality than positioning patients in the semi-prone position, it may increase the rate of peripheral nerve injury or other complications. Malnutrition was identified as a preventable complication associated with ICUs most frequently, but was also reported in rehabilitation units.
