In assessing the impact of survey design, responses in surveys with more options (e.g., very likely\/somewhat likely\/neutral\/somewhat unlikely\/very unlikely, definitely\/probably\/probably not\/definitely not) were more spread out compared to when fewer options were provided (e.g., yes\/no\/not sure or don\u2019t know), which resulted in seemingly lower percentages of affirmative answers.
