There was a decrease in the number of admissions beginning in March 2020 compared with the period from 2010 to 2019, reaching a peak reduction of 45% in April 2020.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Inflation-adjusted hospital charges in the second quarter of 2020 decreased 28% compared with prior years, and there were significant reductions in all examined diagnoses except for birth.<\/p>\n<p><i>Pelletier et al.
