Health Mentoring Service Opportunity! Hello all!

Last year the Community Health Advancement Program (CHAP), in collaboration with Seattle Public Schools’ office of Health and Safety, successfully piloted the 14 year-strong CHAP Health Mentoring program with immigrant youth at a new school, and we are gearing up for the coming year!

We need to recruit primarily graduate health sciences students (Social Work, Public Health, Nursing, MEDEX, Pharmacy, and Medicine) who are interested in working with this population in a health-related context as health educators and mentors for immigrant youth at the Seattle Public Schools’ Secondary Bilingual Orientation Center (SBOC). Undergraduate students interested in health sciences are welcome to apply!

This year we have about 20 kids in our class, so we’ll be looking for 10-15 health mentors. I’ve attached some information for you, and an application to return to me.

This is a great program that is fun and enriching for everyone involved! Any questions are welcome, just let me know.

Many thanks, Rachel
