UC College of Medicine Summer Experiential Programs Now Open

I am writing to let you know that the application for the applications for the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (UCCOM) Summer Experiential Programs are now open.

UCCOM offers two experiences each summer: the Summer Surgery Experience (SSE) and the Summer Neuroscience Experience (SNE) for undergraduate pre-medical students. These are 10-day intensive immersion programs for academically talented undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine.

These fast paced programs each include human cadaver dissection, operating room observations, shadowing with faculty, case studies, presentations from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine faculty, and more.

Summer program participants are intellectually curious and driven to explore careers in medicine. The application process is competitive, but all students with an interest in surgery or neuroscience are encouraged to apply.

For more information about SSE and SNE, including eligibility requirements, fees, dates, and how to apply, please visit our website at www.med.uc.edu/sep.aspx. Please keep in mind these important dates:

·         November 15, 2012—Applications open

·         February 1, 2013—Application deadline

·         March 1, 2013—Admissions decisions made available online

I have also attached a flyer with more information about these programs for you to share with your pre-med students. If you or your students have any questions, please contact me directly.

Thank you,

Andrea
