cid:image001.png@01CE23C4.DD0AD580 As a public university, we are proud to be a national leader in grant and scholarship disbursement. All of our admitted students are automatically eligible for a range of scholarships. Approximately 50% of each incoming class will receive a scholarship. One exciting initiative is our Dean’s Scholars program. Each year the Admissions Committee selects applicants who have demonstrated outstanding potential for leadership in medicine through academic achievements, community engagement, research and altruism. M1 students are also invited to apply to be a Dean’s Scholar at the end of their first semester. Dean’s Scholars receive: . Four-year, full tuition scholarship . Fifth year funding for those who pursue a dual degree . Automatic enrollment in the School’s Healthcare Engagement and Leadership Program (HELP) As part of the Healthcare Engagement and Leadership Program, Dean’s Scholars are granted a unique opportunity to leverage the abundant resources and expertise of the U-M Health System to improve their leadership skills and be better positioned to transform health care in the United States and abroad. Through HELP, Dean’s Scholars: . Connect early with faculty mentors to develop career and research interests . Complete individual and group projects that actively and creatively improve health care . Attend monthly lectures and journal clubs with the Dean and other leaders . Provide mentorship to undergraduates through the Health Sciences Scholars Program Every student at the University of Michigan Medical School can choose to engage in a wide range of opportunities that will prepare them for the rapidly changing health care environment, and ultimately train them to provide better patient care: . Global Health and Disparities Path of Excellence . Leadership Initiative . Dual degrees with other top-ranked schools on campus . Student-run programs such as our Free Clinic . Mentorships We hope you’ll share these exciting leadership opportunities with your students. For more information, visit www.med.umich.edu/medschool.
