Reminder: Summer Medical and Dental Education Program (SMDEP) deadline is March 1, 2014

The Summer Medical and Dental Education Program (SMDEP) is now accepting applications for this summer! SMDEP is a FREE six week academic enrichment program for freshman and sophomore college students who want to become physicians or dentists. Students who meet the following eligibility requirements may be accepted at one of our 12 program sites: * Be currently enrolled as a freshman or sophomore in college; * Have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5; * Be a U.S. citizen or hold a permanent resident visa; and * Not have previously participated in SMDEP. SMDEP is implemented at 12 program sites (80 students per site) across the nation. Each program site provides scholars with academic enrichment in the basic sciences and math, clinical experiences, career development activities, learning and study skills seminars, and a financial planning workshop.
