MCH Volunteer Posting Description

Neighborcare Health is committed to providing comprehensive healthcare to families and individuals who have difficulty accessing care; responding with sensitivity to the needs of our culturally diverse patients; and advocating and working with other clinics and healthcare professionals to improve the overall health status of the communities we serve. Our purpose is to improve health by engaging, educating and empowering individuals in the communities we serve.

With our new Meridian Center for Health opening soon we have many volunteer opportunities available to students. At this time we are looking for motivated, dependable, and welcoming volunteers to staff the welcome center/community desk at the Meridian Center for Health.

The Meridian Center is the result of a creative partnership with Neighborcare Health, Seattle-King County Public Health, and Valley Cities. The goal is to provide a new model for integrated health care delivery and offer low-income families a health care home. Neighborcare Health will offer primary medical care, dental care, and pharmacy services. Valley Cities will offer specialty mental health and recovery services and Public Health will offer WIC nutrition and maternity support services. The Meridian Center for Health will open in December 2015, but the team is looking to recruit volunteers now.

Applicants should contact our volunteer coordinator Rosemary D’Agrosa at RosemaryD@neighborcare.org.
