Saturday, Feb. 6th: Inspiring Diversity in Healthcare – pre-health conference!

The Chicanos/Latinos for Community Medicine at UW (UW CCM) and UW Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (UW MAPS) are both collaborating to put on a pre-health conference for high school students and undergraduates on Saturday, February 6th 9:30-3:30 titled:”Inspiring Diversity in Healthcare” in the Alder Commons!

Our workshops/keynote speakers focus on topics such as bioethics in medicine, broadening the scope of diversity, racism in healthcare, personal statements and more. Our conference’s goal is to empower students, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds in health sciences, to pursue their career interests in medicine/dentistry/nursing/pharmacy/etc. By the end of the conference, we hope participants realize the importance of diversity in healthcare.

Expect awesome speeches, mock interviews, fun hands-on workshops, networking with health professionals and medical/dental/health professional students and much much more!

Tickets to attend the conference may be purchased from this link or at the door at the prices indicated (limited quantity):  http://www.tinyurl.com/MAPSCCM
