About the Writing Center
Our mission at the Pol S/JSIS/LSJ/GWSS Writing Center is to support students in becoming stronger writers. We assist at all points of the writing process--from brainstorming to the final draft--so that your written work clearly and effectively communicates your ideas. In addition to helping with class assignments, we can also provide feedback about major, graduate school and law school applications; cover letters; internship applications; fellowship applications; etc.
The Writing Center is open for in-person tutoring!
Students may choose to attend their tutoring session virtually via Zoom or in-person at the Writing Center.
Please look for appointment instructions in your UW email.
Drop-in hours are back and available on a first come, first serve basis from Noon-2pm Monday-Thursday, in-person at the Writing Center.
When appointments are unbooked, we may be able to do last minute Zoom meetings during our hours of operation. To check if a tutor is available, email firstname.lastname@example.org and request a drop-in. It is NOT guaranteed a tutor will be available. To ensure you get an appointment, book in advance.
The Writing Center is located in Gowen 111.
