Sample animations for Eagle Harbor Maritime Tsunami Hazard project
These are sample animations based on preliminary modeling results
and are not yet public products.
Animations colored by water speed, with massless "ships"
All of the "ships" shown by black segments are simply tracer particles
that move with the fluid velocity as computed in the GeoClaw
simulation. There is no feedback from ship movement to the tsunami model.
Animations colored by water speed, including massless "ships"
and "ferries" with mass
The mass and forces on the ferries (green segments)
are not yet handled properly and so
the motion shown here are not exactly correct, but these animations give
some indication of how larger ships may move when they are accelerated by
the fluid motion rather than always moving at exactly the fluid speed.
The smaller massless ships are as above.
Collisions are not handled properly, so in these animations
ships and ferries can pass through each other when they are
moving at different speeds.
