| Recurrent infections or illness Infections (including foodborne illness and sexually transmitted diseases) and other acute illness during pregnancy may have implications for nutrient needs. In addition, many infections have implications for pregnancy outcome and may require special medical treatment. See Module 2, Nutrition and Normal Pregnancy, for recommendations for preventing some common foodborne illnesses. |
