Clinical Psychology Research Fellowship in Autism Spectrum Disorder<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Bernier Lab<\/a><\/span>\u200b at the University of Washington is committed to advancing our understanding of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other related developmental disabilities. We focus on identifying and clarifying how autism develops, how the brain is involved, and how we can intervene to improve the quality of life for individuals and their families. For some studies we use a ‘genetics-first approach’ by identifying rare genetic variants that are likely contributing to ASD. We employ approaches such as imaging, genetic sequencing and behavioral phenotyping\/assessments.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Clinical Psychology Research Fellowship in Autism Spectrum Disorder is a two-year, postdoctoral fellowship in clinical psychology. The position will spend 100% time working on research projects related to Autism Spectrum Disorder. The primary work location will be in the Bernier Lab at the Center on Human Development and Disability at the University of Washington. Our three clinical psychologists, Raphael Bernier, PhD, Jennifer Gerdts, PhD, and Arianne Wallace, PhD, will serve as primary research and clinical advisors. Training activities may focus on:<\/span><\/p>\n

Administering and scoring cognitive, neuropsychogical, and diagnostic assessments to children (and parents) with a variety of developmental disabilities, primarily Autism Spectrum Disorder as part of clinical research protocols;<\/span><\/p>\n

Supervising and training graduate students on the administration and scoring of these measures;<\/span><\/p>\n

Writing research diagnostic reports and provide feedback to families;<\/span><\/p>\n

Learning to administer and analyze EEG and eye tracking paradigms, if applicable;<\/span><\/p>\n

Participating and assisting in all aspects of the research process including collecting and analyzing data, presenting results, authoring papers and assisting in grant writing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Applicants with experience with ASD and administration of gold-standard ASD diagnostic instruments (ADOS, ADI-R) will be preferred.<\/span><\/p>\n
